Insulating Concrete Form Construction
Insulating concrete forms are rigid plastic foam forms that hold concrete in place during curing and remain in place afterwards to serve as thermal insulation for concrete walls. The foam sections are lightweight and result in energy-efficient, durable construction.
Some features and benefits that ICF construction have that typical construction methods lack are high performance R-values leading to lower heating and cooling costs (50 - 80% reduction), high wind and impact resistance, 4 hour fire rated, no cavity walls for mold, mildew, bugs or rodents, they will not rot or decay, and they have a high sound rating.
